A photographic investigator is mostly interested the renewing of their mind while observing the renewing of their subjects mind, emerging fresh and vibrant after every photographic investigation. Complete forgetfulness seems to have a lot to do with this renewing… Like Prentice Mulford, in his book “Your forces and how to use them”, says: “To learn to forget is as necessary and useful as to learn to remember. We think of many things every day which it would be more profitable not to think of at all. To be able to forget is to be able to drive away the unseen force (thought) which is injuring us, and change it for a force (or order of thought) to benefit us.”

Where is The Doctor?
That is the main question that’s popping in a photographic investigator’s mind in days where photographic investigations are an underground activity and mysterious viruses infect mysteriously a mysteriously large percentage of mysteriously selected parts of the planet. Being a big Doctor Who fan, I am one of those photographic investigators that wonders… But, the thing with The Doctor is that he is probably here working on the situation, but we have missed him just because we were looking for him. So I am reviewing some of my latest photographic investigations just in case my camera took a glimpse of him without me noticing. It happens very often…
Read MoreVera Noir
I photographically investigated Vera and her noir world after watching a great television version of Agatha Christie’s “A murder is announced”. This could have been the name of the investigation as the whole atmosphere was overflowed with a sense of secret, of something hidden. Well hidden, in Vera’s case.

My assignment was about another noir woman actor who liked to play to the theater but was born to play in old noir movies. To achieve that she had to time/dimension travel and there was only one photographic investigator who could trace her: me. As you know, I have a great experience in inter-dimensional travel, even though this leads to an inevitable depletion of my power. But with enough good rest in a sunny, tropical island, everything is restored. So, this investigation took place, with me full of solar energy , powerful and positive. Needless to say, I knew where my subject was even before dialing possible other-dimensional addresses. Conclusion: with enough solar power, everything is done instantly…
Read MoreBecoming light
“But everything exposed by the light becomes visible--and everything that is illuminated becomes a light”. Ephesians, 5:13. (Sometimes a photographic investigator has nothing to say).
Read MoreSpace for rent
Krishnamurti said: “Freedom is space and space is order”. In my photographic investigations I have realised that space is owned and cannot possibly be rented. But my assignment was to photographically investigate some art installations in the island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice, to find out first hand if there was any truth to that statement. As I was following my oblivious subject, what I thought that it was a mind-block proved to be totally liberating. In the complete silence of the installation I realised something else that Krishnamurti has said in The Book of Life: “Having already done everything possible to find the answer, the mind becomes spontaneously quiet. There is an awareness without choice, without any demand, an awareness in which there is no anxiety; and in that state of mind there is perception. It is this perception alone that will resolve all our problems”.
Read MorePossessed by the Muse
It was another Venice assignment and my subject was an ethereal pianist that lived there. I was supposed to photographically investigate a magic light that was pouring out of her in these -not so rare- moments when the Muse possessed her. I investigated her luminous presence in Villa Heriot, in Giudecca and her light was the light of pure love. There is a great Law in the Universe, that like attracts like, and her case was the living proof. Her life was filled with harmony, poise, love, abundance and perfect self expression. And I must say that she has been one of my most beloved subjects.
Read MoreWays of pleasantness
A photographic investigator knows that “wisdom’s ways are ways of pleasantness and all her paths are peace”. And so do her subjects. They all live and work in the four dimensional world, that in this photographic investigator’s reality is in Hilo, Hawaii. Both photographic investigator and subject constantly see miracles and wonders come to pass. (In Hawaii it’s a lot easier.) They interpret them differently, though. My clue for this photographic investigation was written in an old yellow, damaged paper. It was something that Robert Louis Stevenson wrote: “The world is so full of a number of things, I’m sure we should all be as happy as kings”. I instantly knew in which Hilo coffee shop I should go.
Read MoreA pearl of great price
I was investigating the case of a pearl that was in the possession of a beautiful blonde girl. To buy this pearl one had to sell everything they had, to abandon everything they believed in. The task of the girl was to hand it over to it’s rightful owners. The pearl was one, but at the same there was an endless supply of them.
Read MoreThe Realm of Perfect Ideas
“Divine ideas never conflict” wrote Florence Scovel Shinn and I have found that to be very true. So my assignment was to photographically investigate this place called “The Realm of Perfect Ideas” but, as always, first I had to find it. My only clue was: “Mona Lisa wears sunglasses” .I also knew that there would not be the slightest sign of a conflict. So I followed Mona Lisa. It was a coffee shop where people were exploring alternative endings to The game of Thrones saga with great enthusiasm -preoccupation as well. You see, 8 years of a mortal’s life are too much to be lost to a bad, another man’s story… So people begun to write theirs. I always knew that soap operas lead to enlightenment. Now I knew that the same can happen with TV shows with a much greater budget. Ah well…
Read MoreMy name is Luna
My assignment was to investigate this inter-dimensional dog called Luna who appeared suddenly in the lives of some of my regular subjects. Like all inter-dimensional creatures, Luna was in possession of some serious supernatural powers that had to be kept secret for obvious reasons. Having lived for many years with two of such creatures -my faithful helpers, Juanita and Lupe, the cats- I knew what was in stake. So I did my investigation and I reported my findings -but you can never know what they were. The upside of it is that Luna was extremely photogenic and one of her non supernatural talents was that of a model. So, enjoy her shots!
Read MoreThe Breath of Life
I was photographically investigating the attempt of giving life to a modern version of Leonardo’s Mona Lisa painting. My subject used the “Breath of Life” method which consists in blowing a magic smoke to the object. I cannot reveal the origin of the smoke… All I can say is that it wasn’t only the painting that became alive, but also my case notebook, which started to move towards the door. That was my cue for leaving the scene…

While I was photographically investigating her, Gabrielle was singing “Should I stay” and although she didn’t hear it, it seamed like it was the soundtrack of this moment of her life. So I knew instantly what this investigation was all about. Because, as you know, they usually don’t tell me…
Read MoreThe divine design
A photographic investigator knows -through observation- that there is a divine selection for every desire of every subject (because a photographic investigator sees everyone as her subjects). And if the subject knows how to claim it, it comes under grace and in a perfect way. It is indeed a great moment when a photographic investigator is present while this divine law is in action.

Read MoreShooting in Arcana
Very often in Venice, spies like to disguise as fashion models. And it's a good disguise because it allows them not to avoid photographers while hiding. One of the paradoxes of the ingenious venetian spy web that I have come to know so well in the last years. The only clue that I had about the place of this photographic investigation was a word: Arcana. At first I though that it had to do with tarot cards (and started cursing because I had forgotten my tarot deck in Athens), but then I remembered Corto Maltese's "Corte Sconta called Arcana" in his adventure "Fable of Venice". Of course I was one of the 5 people who had the key to this secret place. There are no coincidences in the photographic investigation business. He was there, waiting. I did my job, as I always do.
Read MoreThe thin man
The clues I usually get are as vague as this one, so I wasn't really surprised. It was easy to find him and to follow him in an empty hotel. He started going down and down and down some endless stairs. "What could happen?" I thought... Well, I should have asked myself another question -and there are so many... Because as soon as I blinked, in the place of the thin man there was a thin woman. Going down and down and down these stairs...
Read MoreI am searching for you
A photographic investigator realises, sooner or later, that when one goes expecting a double trouble, they usually find a triple one. There is always a subject willing to be a part of the investigation, which is never a problem for me. Besides, either a subject has been investigated many times or none at all, it's the same. Every photographic investigation is the first investigation. The music of the investigation was hawaiian... Keola Beamer was playing - 'Imi Au Ia 'Oe... "I am searching for you".
Read MoreCommunication
There are many ways to communicate and a photographic investigator knows that, although she has chosen to do it through visual stimulation, images and mood, these are the most deceptive forms of communication. But the important thing is to keep the channels open, despite of the importance, truth or value of the message conveyed. The only way to do that is to keep communicating. What will actually be communicated at the end of the day, has very little to do with the photographic investigator's intention or the recipients conscious perception.

Star worlds are created especially for photographic investigators. For practice in between assignments. Their inhabitants are models, simulations, that exist only to serve as temporary subjects.
